Totally Inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour on Corrán Tuathail..!!! Recently while on safety & marshalling duties for the fantastic Quest Ireland Killarney Adventure race I was informed by two of our team that they’d been made aware of the shocking placement of unsightly chains and even STEPS on a short rock step on the approach to the airy bench of the Eagles Nest not too far above the 1st level / Coimín Iochtarach under the steep North Face of Ireland’s highest.
As soon as I’d finished my work with the Adventure race and after popping in home for a quick coffee I packed my bag and headed up for a look…
This is what I found!!!
Shocking, disgraceful, and made my blood boil !!!!
I contacted the powers that be in the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks Access Forum who were equally as shocked as I and were in total agreement that it’s removal at the earliest opportunity was a priority…and so I wasted no time.
