Guided Ascent of Torc Mountain ( ref: T 04/10 )

This 535m peak is very popular and super scenic!

Roughly a 2.5 to 3 hour hike to the summit which affords absolutely spectacular views.  Weather permitting we will look down on of the beautiful Lakes of Killarney, Muckross House, Killarney National Park and across to the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks.

Our guided ascents of this mountain are a “must do” when in Killarney as they have an added focus on history, flora, fauna and mythology. A big hit for those that want a somewhat leisurely time in the mountains of Kerry with a much more enriched experience than when hiked without our guides!

The Irish word torc means boar and it is said that an enchanted boar was killed there Fionn mac Cumhaill the legendary mythical hunter-warrior who led the Fianna warriors in the 3rd century.
