Informative,exciting and challenging days introduction to climbing in the majestic Gap of Dunloe with a qualified KerryClimbing Rock Climbing Instructor.
The “Gap of Dunloe” is recognised as one of the best areas for climbing in the whole of Ireland!!! It consists of old red sandstone cliffs mainly of horizontal cracks with loads of single pitch climbs of various grades, all only a 15 minute walk from the road.
Our day’s climbing will benefit all levels. Those taking their first steps in becoming a proficient and competent rock climber, aswell as those who have some experience but wish to further their skills. This course is great for those interested in pursuing this exhilarating sport or those simply wanting to have some fun!!!
On the day of the course we will cover the following:
*Belaying basics.
*Bouldering.
*Knots and basic ropework.
*Movement and technique.
*Specialist equipment use and limitations.
*Route and grading systems.
*Basic safety.
*Abseiling.
*First steps to lead climbing and setting up safe belays.
*Plenty of climbing!

All equipment is provided such as harnesses, helmets and all technical gear and rock shoes. All you will need is your personal mountain day clothing and kit, food and drink.
